The short version

The Typeity Mac app has no accounts, advertising, analytics, telemetry, or networking. It does not send us your typing or usage.

Keyboard access

macOS Input Monitoring lets the app receive transient key events so it can choose a sound. Optional stats save only key and click totals. If you enable the transparent mini HUD, the actual last key appears for less than a second, then clears without being saved. macOS secure input hides it, but some websites may not activate secure input; hide the HUD when typing secrets. The app does not reconstruct words, keep a key history, or transmit key events.

Website downloads

The app is currently free. If you use the website’s email form, your address is processed to validate that request but is not saved in an order database or a mailing list. The signed download cookie contains a random order ID, checkout mode, and expiry—not your email address. Direct download links do not require an email address.

Cookies

The website’s download form sets a secure, HTTP-only download-access cookie lasting seven days. Direct downloads do not need this cookie. There are no advertising cookies.

Service providers

Hosting providers may process technical request data, such as IP addresses and browser information, to deliver and protect the website. This is separate from the offline Mac app.
